So tonight we went to Target for a couple things. We're walking back out to the car...one cop, tow cops....we drive away..two more cops, another, and yet another. So...we turned around and went back to Target. Had to check out the action. They were conveniently situated all around the parking lot, side streets, and even a neighborhood entrance. Seth ran back in to get drinks...Anders snacked on cereal. It was a great night. After about 20 minutes of watching...one by one, the cop cars moved toward the store entrance. And then we hear "put your hands up" over the speaker.
Quick back track to when were in Target...we're walking through an aisle and we were completely cut-off by a man who was clearly on a mission with his shopping cart. Good thing Anders was on daddy's shoulders at the time. Both of us made "pardon me" and "don't mind us" comments to let him know we thought he was rude, but he didn't acknowledge us. Forgot about him.
Forgot about him until we'd been sitting in the car for a good 15 minutes waiting for the bad guy to come out. When Seth went back in to get drinks, he asked the clerk what the deal was...she said they'd had a few "instances" recently so that's probably why. We are smarter than that...why would 6 cop cars sit around Target...is there really nothing better to do? So..then this guy pops back into our minds. We're thinking...maybe he's the guy.
Okay...now back to "hands behind your head..." We're excited to finally see some action. We put Anders back in his carseat, happened to drive up towards the doors to get a better view...and sure enough, there's that same guy.
That was our Sunday night action. It was fun while it lasted, but good thing it didn't last much longer. We were getting bored waiting.
Now, if only the cops could catch our bike thieves.

A Real Vacation
It's official. We are taking a real vacation. By real, I mean we are traveling outside of California, but not to Illinois to visit family. It'll be great. The hotel is booked. The plane tickets are purchased. And we've almost secured a rental car - still working on that one. We're heading to Denver, CO next month. We're staying at a great place in Breckenridge. We'll spend some time with Jason, Laura & Jaden, see some of the Springs and maybe some old friends Seth used to know...and most importantly we'll just relax while we're there. We are super excited that it'll be fall so the leaves will be colorful.
The end of September can't come any too soon. We are very excited for our Colorado getaway.

The End of July
So Great Escape was a great weekend. Seth's parents were here for the big camping trip...and over 130 people from church took part in the weekend. It was a great time! We're now recooperating from a busy fgew weeks. Seth's parents are back in IL...and life here is starting to get back to normal.
We took last Friday night off and went camping with some friends, spent Saturday on the lake wakeboarding and playing in the water, and then called it a day. It was a fun 24 hours.
We're now looking at a Jr. High leadership retreat in the next month. Seth is hoping to get a strong group of students to help "lead" the JH group into the school year. Should be a good kick-off to fall. And school will be starting soon which means I'll be back to subbing. It sounds like I'm getting a set sub job on Thursday mornings - same time, same day, same school. That'll be so nice! I'm going to slowly begin phasing out of Children's Ministry at church. Its been a great almost 2 years, but I feel like God is saying its time for a break and that I should give in other areas.
Anders is keeping us busy. He's all over and into everything. Still loves his dog and saying "daga" more than anything else. When we leave the house..he gives Payton treats. If we leave her water dish out...he plays in the water and then dumps it. If he needs a hug...he gives Payton one. If he gets sleepy, he lays his head on Payton. Its just tooo cute! We're hoping he starts using words...more than just "dog" real soon.

We'll visit some friends while were there and just enjoy a week away. A much needed week away. We are very much looking forward to this trip....and extremely thankful for how it all worked out.
Anyway....we're still working on keeping this updated. And still not doing great. For now, I need to go...Anders is opening the oven door. We're working on the word "hot" but so far its just a funny word.

It's Harbor's Edge week at our church - that's our church VBS. This year we're running a sports camp for the kids - it's been fun. For the non-sports kids, there's drama. It's been a big hit. The kids are psyched....the volunteers are having fun. The only drawback...which hasn't seemed to affect attitudes...is that this is the hottest week we've had so far. It's been between 105-110 all week. Couple that with the smoky air from the wildfires....ugh!
Seth and I both very involved in Harbor's Edge this year....so Anders has been home with babysitters every night this week. He's done really well. We weren't sure how that would go since we rarely leave him with anyone, but we're pleased. One night, he even went to sleep before we got home. Maybe now that he's beginning to get past the clingy "I-only-want-Mommy-or-Daddy" stage and can stay with others without completely losing it, we'll try to go out one night.
Remind me again though...what does dinner look like without a bib, highchair, and chunks of food in the hair?

Start Something New....Again
So its been over a year since we posted anything here. We'll try to do better...starting today! A quick review from the last year...
ANDERS MCKAY LINDBERG
Little Anders was born June 8, 2007 - the cutest little guy ever! He came a little early which was a great surprise! He's been a blessing in our lives and we just can't imagine life without him. In November, we had him dedicated at church. Mama came out for that. It was a sweet morning at church. Teething has been our biggest challenge with Anders, coupled with learning how to sleep. He's got 5 teeth now - we're working on 6 and 7. An early walked, he's been running around the house since around 10 1/2 months. And at 12 1/2 months, Anders finally started sleeping through the night - PRAISE GOD!!! Today, Anders is a little go-getter, loves Payton, playing in water, and music. On Sunday mornings, he loves his chance at a mic in hand. He turned 1 almost a month ago - we had lots of fun watching him dig into his little drum cake. We celebrated here with friends and back in IL with family.
FAMILY
Largely due to Anders, we have several visits from family last year. Grandma came out for a couple visits, Papa & Mama, Uncle Steve & Aunt Karin, Grandpa and Nana and Uncle Alan, Aunt Christine, & Noelle. We had great times with everyone and were able to take a little day trips while they were here.
NO MORE RENTING...
In April, we were finally able to buy a house. The market out here has been absolutely crazy. Many have lost homes, but it is what enabled us to buy. We moved from Lincoln to Rocklin and we're loving how close we are to everything. And its great to have a place we can call our own. We've made progress, but we still have work to do. Someday we look forward to the final "after" picture.
BUSY BUSY BUSY
As usual, we continue to stay super busy. Right now, we're gearing up for our VBS Sports Camp that begins Monday. We're looking forward to the new sports element that's been added this year. And in just 3 weeks, our church's annual Great Escape Campout. It's one of our favorite events of the year. Papa & Mama will be out for that.
Anyway.....that's what has been happening these last several months.
Hope all is well with you!
